"THE THINGS AIN’T SEEN" is a 17-minute portrait documentary filmed in Scotland in May 2022. The inspiration for this project stemmed from Eliott's burgeoning passion for travel, which he discovered a year earlier when he left France to live abroad.
To sustain this fervor for exploration while pursuing his studies, he conceived a project that seamlessly integrated his love for creating, discovery, and travel, named "THE THINGS AIN’T SEEN."
The narrative unfolds as John, a Scottish farmer, expresses concerns about the future of his farm, while his son, Findlay, aspires to make a living through his passion for BMX. Between these two divergent desires, the film explores how a father and son navigate the challenge of reconciling their contrasting passions and bridging the gap between their worlds.
Upon embarking on their journey to Scotland, Eliott and Paul embarked without preconceived expectations, choosing to narrate a visual story based on whatever they encountered along the way. It was not until they crossed paths with the Penninston family that they decided to focus their project on John and Findlay.
Through this family, they unearthed an authentic Scotland, revealing a distinct society, culture, and way of life. Scotland's enchanting landscapes, warm-hearted people, and the delights of its beverages added to the charm of their experience.
The profound connection they felt with Scotland compelled them to return from this captivating voyage with a compelling story to share, a film to exhibit, and a treasure trove of memories.
As a result of their endeavor, Eliott successfully completed his first year of his course and secured a distribution opportunity with "ARTCAM PRODUCTION" to showcase the movie in film festivals across the globe.
